Welcome back to campus. We trust your summer was productive and enjoyable. On behalf of the Wellness Committee we thank you for the comments, suggestions, and encouragement many of you have given.
During the past several months the Wellness Committee has been working to provide information on a three-phase outline. The first phase had to do with physical exercise and fitness. We provided an AIncentive Program@ and let you establish your own personal goals and work toward them. At the conclusion we handed out a gift for those that met their goals.
The next phase starts now and concludes at the end of the semester in December. During this time we will present the ADiet and Nutrition@ aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Please watch for articles in the Faculty/Staff Bulletin as well as other information that will be coming your way. Friday, November 14, will be our annual Wellness Fair. It promises to be bigger and better than last year and we will have new display tables for you to visit.
Phase three will begin in January and continue until the end of school. During this time we will cover the area of ALifestyle@ with related subjects.
A good number of you have indicated how much you have enjoyed receiving the ATop Health@ newsletter each month. We, too, have been pleased with the publication and announce that it will continue to be sent each month. As you would understand, not every issue can be covered each month. Therefore, if you have any questions that we can assist you with, please contact one of us on the committee. We will attempt to answer questions by e-mail, the Bulletin, at the Wellness Fair or during one of our brown bag sessions on Thursdays (Sept. 18, Oct. 30, Dec. 4).
Committee members are: Kelly Evans, Susan Garbett, Kent Hughes, Ed Malstrom, Jud Miller, Leon Moffat, Reed Stoddard, Carma Sutherland, Christel Taylor, Dave Walker, and your author for this issue, Larry Wickham.
