To: Potential AAF Members
From: Beth R. Hendricks, AAF Advisor
Subject: AAF Membership
Many students ask me why they should join AAF and I usually have too many reasons to give them a “quick” answer. The AAF organization is a professional organization that you may continue with once you begin your professional career. Potential employers look to see that you have joined such organizations while in college. It gives you the opportunity to network with not only local chapter members but regional and national members. Networking is the most powerful tool you can have when looking for jobs. The competitions afford you the opportunity to create a complete integrated campaign before you leave the university. The AAF national organization also sends out lists of possible internships which you may take advantage of.
I have been an advisor to other organizations; but, honestly, this is one of the most competitive and professional organizations I have been involved in. You will find that your abilities and talents will be stretched far beyond classroom work. If you get involved in all aspects of the organization, you will find that opportunities will come to you that you could never have dreamed of.
So, if you are willing to work very hard, join in a group experiment, and flex your creative, analytical, and intuitive skills, become a part of this organization.
