Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)

BIA grants are available to some American Indian students. These grants are awarded by the student's tribal education office or agency office. To be eligible to apply, a student must be registered with a U.S. tribe that has a treaty with the U.S. government.

Eligibility requirements may differ for each tribe; therefore, the student should contact his/her tribe to determine eligibility.

It is the responsibility of the student to keep in contact with his/her tribe and send BYU-Idaho any necessary paperwork such as the Needs Analysis that is required by many tribes. The student must be aware of all deadlines. If you have any questions contact our office at 100 Kimball (496-1015).
