*In order to receive the full award, a student would need to attend 4 semesters as a full-time student between July 1 and June 30 of the academic year. The amount listed would be divided by 4 to arrive at the amount for each semester.
The ENROLLMENT STATUS is determined as follows:
- Full time: 12 or more credits
- 3/4 time: 9.0 to 11.5 credits
- 1/2 time: 6.0 to 8.5 credits
- less than 1/2 time: .5 to 5.5 credits
How we determine credits for Pell Grant payments:
- Audit credits may not be used.
- Credits obtained by challenging classes may not be used.
- Continuing Education credits may be used only if the student is admitted as a regular student to BYU-Idaho and is seeking a BYU-Idaho degree.
If the student is enrolled in full semester classes and block classes, the Pell Grant will not be disbursed until the student is attending the minimum credits required for the current payment.
Disbursement of PELL Grants:
If you have met the minimum requirements, your money will be available up to 10 days before classes begin. The grant will be credited first to any balance owing for tuition, fees, books, supplies, campus housing, and meals. Any remaining amount can be picked up by the student in cash (up to $400 a day) at the Cashiers Office or in a check by contacting the Accounting Services office, Kimball Building 130.
