Maintaining Lender Contact

The student is responsible to inform the lender of the following:

1. If there is a name change
2. If the permanent address changes
3. If the Social Security number changes
4. If the projected graduation date changes
5. If the student withdraws from school
6. If the student transfers to another school
7. If the student drops below half-time status
8. If the student desires to apply for a deferment or a forbearance
9. If the student is having any difficulty repaying the loan

The student should retain copies of all letters sent to the lender. The student is also encouraged to log all telephone calls to the lender, noting dates, the name of the person contacted, and what he/she was told.
