In 1996 many of the sunbirds, (people who migrate to Rexburg form the hot southern states during the summer) donated a substantial amount of money to the gardens to construct this feature. This natural-looking water feature is reminiscent of what may be seen in nearby Yellowstone national Park. Above Sunbird Springs are rectangular plots of perennial flowers which are accentuated by the wildflowers growing around the north side.
