BYU-Idaho IT Infrastructure Department

The BYU-Idaho IT Infrastructure department has been established to provide reliable, centralized data repositories and distribution. Our mission is to:

  • Strengthen Testimonies of Students and Employees with whom we work.
  • Provide the server infrastructure necessary to empower faculty and administration to provide students a quality education in all disciplines.
  • Provide students with the necessary tools to further their education and employment.
  • Maintain a wholesome computer environment for the advancement of academics.

Specifically, IT Infrastructure is responsible for managing about 100 servers (Windows, Linux and OS400 operating systems), over 27,000 network accounts, nearly 10 TB of data, email, and web services. The department also provides support for several enterprise applications such as Blackboard, TutorTrak, I-Cards, and many departmental applications. The IT Infrastructure Response Center monitors servers and services and provides centralized print services for AS400 users. The IT Infrastructure staff consists of eight full-time employees and 10 to 12 student employees.
