A.A.S. Degree Program
The A.A.S Web Design and Development (WDD) program provides a solid background in both the breadth and depth of web site design and development. The proposed curriculum consists of a core set of classes (28 credits) and a set of classes in one of 3 emphasis areas (15 credits).
Through the core classes, a student will gain a broad understanding web site design and development. In this core, they will gain a fundamental understanding of web site design, development, as well as the business and communication aspects of web technology.
Through the emphasis areas, students will gain an in-depth understanding of one particular area of web technology. Students can choose to emphasize in one of 3 areas: Business/Communications, Web Site Design, or Web Site Development. An overview of the proposed curriculum is detailed below. The A.A.S. degree is more of an applied degree than the B.S. degree. A graduate of the A.A.S. will have a similar breadth of knowledge as a graduate of the B.S. degree, however will lack depth in an area of emphasis. |
