Web Design and Development Degree

 

This exciting degree is one of the newest at BYU-Idaho. Courses begin Fall 2010. An integrated group of faculty, university developers and industry professionals worked to identify a curriculum that would give graduates marketable skills and real-world experience working accross disciplines.

 

Courses for the Web Design and Development degree will be taught by faculty from five departments:

 

  • Art
  • Computer Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Communications
  • Business Management

 

Students will complete a core set of classes designed to develop an understanding of the various skill sets involved in web design and develpoment. Programmers will learn to speak the language of graphic designers. Designers will learn to understand network issues. And internet marketers will learn the nuances of communication on the web.

 

With a base understanding of the core disciplines, students then emphasize in thier area of passion and specialty:

 

  • Web Design
  • Web Development
  • Web Comm/Business

 

Web Design and Development is offered as a B.S. and A.A.S. degree. Additionally, various web design and development minors are available to non-WDD students.
