Ashley K. Kelley '08:

“I graduated July 08 and moved home to Alabama. After sitting out or school for a semester, I decided to turn my mission papers in. I received my mission call July 4, 2009 and have been called to serve in the Osorno Chile mission! I report October 28, 2009 and am absolutely THRILLED about serving the people of Chile and the Lord. A couple more tid-bits of good news: My sister is expecting her first child, which is also the first GRANDCHILD in the family! We are so anxious and excited. And finally, I am going to be running my SECOND 5K in October. I encourage anyone and everyone to do a 5K at least once. Do it for the accomplishment and if you like it, start doing it for the thrill and the milestones in working harder and harder to reach higher achievements!!! It's an amazing experience, I think.”

Kimberly Jan Cone '07:

“My husband and I moved to Tuscaloosa, AL after we graduated BYU-Idaho in April. Austin is attending the University of Alabama and working toward an MBA. I started working at MailSouth, Inc. as an Advertising Account Manager. MailSouth is an advertising business that creates and mails out direct mail advertising. I work with businesses in Tennesee, Viginia and Illinois. I am enjoying my work and co-workers.”

Matthew C. Toone '07:

Completed his Master of Accounting (MAcc)degree at the University of Utah in May 2008. Matthew has accepted a tax associate position with the international accounting firm Grant Thornton in Salt Lake City. He also is a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He and his wife Claire live in Sandy, Utah.

Anne Marsde '05:

“I am a High School Health Teacher for Stockton Unified School District. I teach the Intro, Intermediate and Advanced Health Professions courses. My students go out into the community to do internships. I became the Health Department Chair and the Health SLC Lead Teacher after only a few years working at the school. I am the youngest teacher on our staff of 120. I want to thank all of my professors for their wonderful instruction and guidance. I am so grateful for the opportunity to attend BYU-ID, it was the BEST college for me!”

Fred '05 and Melissa Diane Bamfo '05:

“Fred and I recently returned from a being stationed in Seoul, Korea with the military. Fred served in the US Army for 2 years, during which he was able to recieve his US citizenship. While in Korea, I gave birth to our first child, Lucy Diane Bamfo. She is the joy of our lives. We enjoyed living abroad, but are glad to be back in the US with our friends and family. I am fortunate to stay at home with our daughter Lucy, but I also teach voice lessons and tutor Koreans with their english over the phone. Fred is working on his Masters degree in public health.”

Jodee Krainik '05:

Accepted an Associate Publicist position at Avalon Travel Publishing, publisher of Rick Steves' titles, the Moon Handbooks series, and a member of the Perseus Books Group. Prior to this she lived in China where she taught English to middle school and high school students.

Taylor '04 and Kiersten '04 Henrie:

Taylor is ABD toward a PhD in Musicology from Claremont Graduate University. He completed an MA in Music from CGU in 2007. Taylor is currently a full-time, tenure-track professor at Cuyamaca College, outside of San Diego. Kiersten taught in music in the Arcadia Unified School District for 2.5 years. She is now a homemaker, but plays violin semi-professionally as time permits. Taylor and Kiersten are currently living in El Cajon, CA with their two kids.

Ryan and Meg are living in Gilbert, AZ. Meg is about to complete her FOURTH year of teaching! She teaches Grade Six, Language Arts in Tempe. Ryan is just two short semesters away from graduating from Arizona State University. They have been married for (almost) three years.

Jill McAuley '00:

“I am currently at BYU Provo and will be finished with my bachelors degree in sociology at the end of summer term in August. After that I will return home to Woodinville Washington. I currently have a job with an online company that employs people with disabilities. I will be doing H. R. work for them as well as any new positions they have open. After graduating I look forward to living around Mom, Dad, younger brother, older married brother, and two nephews! I'm also excited to start again doing physical therapy by horseback riding. While I am at the barn I also look forward to teaching some riding lessons. I will miss the spirit of BYU, increasing my testimony with others my age, student wards, living with good friends, campus in the spring, the close mountains, Provo, the dollar theater, discussing secular subjects in combination with the Gospel, and the LDS single scene here. I cannot wait to getting involved with the singles branch in my home stake. I'm very ! excited to see what the next chapters in my life will bring. Though it's difficult to imagine; I know Heavenly Father and my savior will be beside me every step of the way.”

Matt '00 and Heidi '00 Russell:

Heidi and Matt, a dentist with U. S. Navy assigned to Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base, will be there three more years. They have two children, Lincoln, age 5, and Paige, age 3. Khloe will arrive next month. She is the enrichment counselor in her relief society presidency and Matt is the deacons quorum advisor and assistant Scoutmaster.

Travis received his bachelor's degree from BYU in Provo and then his Doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. He and his wife and 3 kids currently live in the Boise area and he is working at Altitude Physical Therapy, an outpatient PT office.

Anna (Cash) Hammari '98:

Anna (Cash) Hammari, AA Interpersonal Communication '98, graduated from Boise State University with her BA in Communication in 2000. Anna is fortunate to be a full-time mother of five children and enjoys her home management position immensely. She recently moved with her family to Sacramento, CA where her husband began a graphic design career with the federal government in Jan 2010 after her supporting him in completing his MFA at the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2009.

“We recently returned from living abroad in Manila, Philippines for 2 years with our young family. My husband works for a large call center company and ran multiple sites there. Since we have been back in the U.S., we have actually called customer service a few times and ended up speaking with his former agents back in Manila!! It is truly a small world! I am so grateful for the great business teachers I had at Ricks College (now BYU-I). I never thought when I took that class on Expatriots at Ricks that I would ever be one myself! The things I learned in that class truly came full circle in my life!! What AMAZING experiences we have had!”

Crystal Bradshaw Jones '98:

“Randy and I were married on August 8, 2003 in the Raleigh, North Carolina Temple. Which was one of the happiest days of my life. We had our first son on July 1, 2004 and bought our first house in Febuary of 2006. We were blessed with a second son on November 10, 2006. Christopher is now 4 and half and Bryson is 2. I was teaching school when I met Randy and now I am a stay@ home mom, which I feel very fortunate to be able to do. Randy went to BYU-I ! in 2002 for only 9 months but we both miss it terribly. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Ricks College/BYU-I. It was definitely a defining moment in my life, it made me a better person, wife and mother. I have so many great memories that I will cherish forever and made so many wonderful friends.”

Benjamin Ross Roper '98:

“I have four children: David Scott Roper (6), Emma Leigh Roper (4), Gracelin Joy Roper (2), and Caytie Lela Roper (new born). I am currently attending University of Texas at Dallas for an MBA degree while I work full time for Quantum as a support engineer. I still enjoy teaching and playing my viola and banjo and will continue to do so in the future.”

“My Husband and I are the proud parents of three adorable boys. We both earned our Masters of Arts Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Moderate-Severe Disabilities. We also own JT Teaching Supplies which is an online, e-commerce teaching and office supply store (www.jtteachingsupplies.com). We are grateful to have our sons and our store which allows us to use our expretese in Special Education to provide a useful services to others.”

Aaron Spencer Florence '96:

Graduated from medical school in 2004. He is currently in his last year of his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. He plans on completing an additional year of sub-specialty training in Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery by completing a fellowship in Lake Tahoe. Currently, he is living with his wife and four children on Long Island, New York.

Clintepious (“Clint”) Theodore Gilmore '96:

“After attending Ricks College (Brigham Young University - Idaho) I received a BA from Brigham Young University, Provo in 2000 and a JD from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2003. I am licensed to practice law in Nevada and Utah. I am a deputy city prosecutor with West Valley City Attorney's Office, a Special Deputy District Attorney for Salt Lake County, and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Utah. I recently received a National Award from the Director of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. My wife (Shiloah Young Gilmore, Class of '96) and I are the parents of four sons and we live in West Valley City, Utah.”

She and her husband just celebrated their 11th year anniversary, and have two beautiful children, Caelyn age 6 and Andrew age 4. She is currently working on Dual MBAs in Accounting and Finance, with the end goal of achieving the CPA certification and possibly of future doctorates degree.

Amanda Howell '96:

“After 8 years of tending to my 2 daughters; I am finally recieving my BA in Social Science and beginning my Masters in School Counseling. My two years at Ricks were the BEST two years of my life. I loved my trip with the Sociology department to Chicago to work with the Inner City Youth program and that experience helped encourage me to purse a career with at risk youth. Ricks College was the best. I just wish it had been a 4-year college way back when. I can't wait unit my daughters get to experience the joy that BYU-Idaho has to offer them in the future.”

“I recently completed my Master's in Education from the University of Phoenix and am pursuing a PhD in Education from Capella University. I am also completing a Phd In Music From Canyon College and will complete both programs in the Fall of 2010. I was also recently named to Cambridge Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals. I was also selected as a Professional of the Year by this organization as well as being accepted in Kappa Delta Pi and the National Scholars Honor Society.”

“How I loved Ricks College! I was Woman of the year in 1994. My husband and I recently adopted our 7th child through the foster care foundation. Maybe it is not newsworthy...but my degree from Ricks, along with continued education at Utah State have made me the person I am today. I will always remember my time at Ricks!”

Gregory W Lassen '94:

Transferred to University of Colorado in Boulder, graduated in 1997 with BA in Intl Affairs, hired by Ameritech/SBC and moved to the mid-west, bounced around there for a couple-three years, finally ended up in Cleveland, Ohio. Met the love of my life, married Amy Perkins in 2001, have two beautiful children (Elizabeth & Molly) with another girl due in December (2007). Working as a Regional Sales Manager, golfing when I can, spending most of my time with my family.

Greg Hales '91:

Greg coached football at Eastern Oregon University and also coached at Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah. Greg coached the line on back-to-back Region One championship teams in 2005-2006. Greg has spent the past seven years in pharmaceutical slaes and lives in Farr West, utah with his wife Kim and their three children.

Nancy K. Rison '94:

“After graduating in 1994 I proceeded to get a job at the Prosecutor's Office at home, but that wasn't enough....I wanted to travel, to see the world and of course get paid for it! I applied to serve as a United Nations Volunteer in Sierra Leone and I got it! And from there, started a new exciting life in Africa. I worked with the UN peacekeeping mission in Sierra Leone for 8 great months and then secured an international posting with a War Crimes Tribunal in SL, where I worked for 3 years. Presently I am working again with the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Khartoum, Sudan.”

Lauralyn Salinas '90:

Crowned Mrs. Idaho America 2007 and competed in the Mrs. America Pageant on September 5th. Her goal to be competitive in a modest wardrobe was realized when she was named a top ten finalist. She is the first women from Idaho to earn that honor. Lauralyn and her husband Marc are the parents of five children.

Julie (Russell) Hilton '88:

“We had our second baby August 10th, 2009. Her name is Jessi Anne Hilton; she was 7 lb 2 oz, 19-1/2 inches long, with lots of dark brown hair. She is adored by her 19 month old brother, Russell Neil Hilton. We are very happy to have both of them in our home!”

Gregg Richard Clifton '87:

has worked for the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office for over ten years. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in July 2006 and his primary responsibility has been to oversee an 80 million dollar build out project of the overcrowded jail system that currently holds over 1400 inmates. His wife (Maralee Hunsaker, '87) and family are very proud of his accomplishments. It all started with BYU-Idaho (Ricks College). Their daughter Paige will be following in their footsteps this fall as she begins her first year at BYU-Idaho.

Shannon Carol Hoffmann '87:

“I went on to become the editor of a nationally circulated trade publication titled Playground magazine, about playgrounds and children and all things related to play and issues such as combating childhood obesity. More recently even I am spotlighted in a book by Anne Bradshaw about family home evenings titled Famous Family Nights. It will be available in July 2009. My family and I are excited to be included with some very accomplished colleagues in this book.”

I just recently became a single mom, and I'm planning to go back to school to finish a Veterinarian Technician degree or start pre-nursing. Heidi Hemming '83 and Julie Hemming Savage '87:

Sisters Heidi Hemming and Julie Paige Hemming Savage have published a new book, Women Making America. Spanning the centuries between the 1700s and present day, the book tells the story of American history from a female perspective. Myron Ross Thurber '82:

Graduated with PhD in Counseling and emphasis in Rehabilitation 2006 from University of North Texas. Also a licenses physical therapist and licensed mental health counselor in Washington State. Primary author of HeartMath Intervententions for Counselors, Social Worker, Therapists and Health Care Professionals for the Institute of HeartMath. Provide webinar and seminars for Institute of HeartMath to train health care professionals in the HeartMath Techniques of stress managment and heart rate variability training.

Laurence “Lance” Merl Nelson, Jr. '82:

Promoted to Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. Recently returned from a tour in Iraq, served as a Flight Surgeon and Member of the Head and Neck Trauma Team in Balad. Serves on the Board of Directors for Tanner Clinic in Layton, UT. Completed the Maintenance of Certification for Ophthalmology Board Certification. Married to the most wonderful woman he knows for 26 years. Parents of 5. Blessed far beyond what we deserve.

James B Wiebe III '80:

Jim and Lois presently reside in Riner, VA, where Lois is a spine surgeon's medical practice manager. Jim is presently interviewing for a new position as a senior mechanical engineer and project manager, performing in several musical groups including Trombones of the Blue Ridge (a trombone quintet), The Old Pros (a big band), and Summer Musical Enterprise's 2009 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Blacksburg, VA, in August 2009. Jim and Lois hope to remain in Riner, VA, but are considering relocation to Utah and other areas in the mountain west and west coast. Their daughters, Abigail and Annie, live in Portland, OR, and San Diego, CA, respectively, and Jim's parents live out west, also.

Nancy McBride '79:

Graduated from BYU-Utah in 1981 in recreation therapy. She worked part-time for the City of Loveland, CO., recreation department for a few years. She currently works for Walgreens Drug in Greeley, CO as a certified pharmacy technician. She passed the national pharmacy technician test on the first try last November 2006. She is married to V. Alan McBride and has 2 boys.

Perry O'Neal Rush '73:

recieved “Chiropractor of the Year” award from William G. Blair Chiropractic Society. Recieved Sherman College Service award. Invited to lecture on Chiropractic specialty in Argentina and Japan in 2008. Presently in the Boiling Springs S.C. bishopric. Four children, four grandchildren.

Linda Weaver Clark '70:

is the author of a series called “A Family Saga in Bear Lake, Idaho.” Her new historical fiction novel, “David and the Bear Lake Monster,” centers around Idaho's legendary Bear Lake Monster and a young man who is trying to understand life and love. The fifth and last novel in this series was just released, “Elena, Woman of Courage,” and centers around a love story in the roaring '20s. “Whoa, Cat's Pajamas!” “Ah Horsefeathers!”

Gary L. Carlson '68:

Gary studied music @ Ricks w/ Darwin Wolford, Jack Bowman and Lamar Barrus. Ended up as an architect. (a musical one!)Worked in LDS temple design & church archtecture from 76' to 85'. Designed Tahiti, Denver and Las Vegas temples, assisted with many others around the world including stained glass designs and deeply involved with Temple Square Tabernacle remodels and Assembly Hall remodel and new tracker organ in 83'. Married Kathryn Oney in Salt Lake Temple in 74'. Two sons. Kathryn is a geneologist and done much work in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and Iowa on family lines. Active in the church and both have held almost every ward and stake calling the last 33 years. Currently serving as ward organist and choir director. Living in Las Vegas since 1985.

Tanner's article, 'Shakespeare Among the Saints.' This is in reference to the book we published together in 1991, 'Inspired Quotes from the Pen of Shakespeare.' ”

Roger L Miller '56

Retired (Spring, 2007) after 25 years as a member of the music faculty of the U. of Utah. Writer for Music and the Spoken Word. Mormon Tabernacle Choir member for 20 years, enjoyed world wide travel and many other wonderful experiences, completely circumnavigated the globe in the summer of 1985. Hawaii Mission 1957-59.
