Campaign encourages students to walk

As BYU—Idaho's campus grows and enrollment rises, there's a lot of walking going on. But with significant overcrowding on roads and students driving from class to class, there's still not enough. University Communications launched a campaign this semester—complete with videos, plenty of fun facts, and a cool new Web site—to encourage students to put down the keys and walk to class.

“We are aware that some individuals need to drive to campus,” said Kirk Rawlins, communications coordinator with University Communications. “But many choose to drive when they could comfortably walk. BYU-Idaho has a walkable campus. We hope both students and employees will examine the issue and see that it is possible to walk to and around campus.”
