- Students will analyze how these contexts, as well as the forces of globalization, affect a selected African, Asian, or Latin American developing country.
- Students will demonstrate a heightened awareness of their individual interconnectedness with their brothers and sisters around the globe.
Description
This two-credit interdisciplinary course will address the challenges to modernization faced by developing nations in an increasingly globalizing world. Emphasis will be given to analyzing issues such as geography and natural resources, history, culture, economics, poverty, education, politics, government, environmental sustainability, and other issues related to a basic understanding of the complexities of the vast majority of the world's population.
