All Transfer Course Equivalencies
BYU-Idaho accepts most college-level courses from regionally-accredited institutions. BYU-Idaho accepts transfer courses with a grade of C- or higher. Although transfer credits can be used to fulfill course graduation requirements, they will not be calculated into your BYU-Idaho GPA.
If BYU-Idaho offers a direct course equivalency to your transfer course, it will be listed on your official Transfer Course Evaluation Report (sent to your BYU-Idaho email account). If no equivalency has been made, the credits will transfer to BYU-Idaho as "ELECTIVE Transfer Credit." Courses from institutions that are not regionally-accredited are generally not transferable to BYU-Idaho. Additionally, courses from certain disciplines completed 10 or more years ago may only be accepted as elective credit.
The transfer student page on my.byui.edu includes all courses from schools with whom BYU-Idaho has made transfer course equivalencies. Select your state and school from the dropdown boxes to determine which courses from your transfer school have been equated to BYU–Idaho courses. If your school or a specific course is not listed, BYU–Idaho does not accept credit from that school, does not accept the course for transfer, or has not yet evaluated that particular course. Transfer course evaluations occur upon your enrollment to BYU–Idaho and receipt of an official transcript from your transfer school.
For any course or school not included, please send your request or questions to transfer@byui.edu.
Transfer Associate Degrees
Students transferring with an Associate of Art or Science degree from most regionally-accredited schools will fulfill all BYU-Idaho Foundations requirements except FDCNC 250 and any unfulfilled Eternal Truths (Religion) requirements. Students transferring with an Applied Associate degree will have their courses individually evaluated.
