Share the Road—Think of the Impact You Could Make

BYU-Idaho is supporting the City of Rexburg it its campaign to educate the public on pedestrian, bicycle, and motor vehicle safety.

On July 28, the Rexburg Police Department will be patrolling the crosswalks on West 2nd South. Officers will issue citations to all drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, and to pedestrians who jaywalk.

The City of Rexburg has developed a 10-point safety plan, which was initiated after the death of a second pedestrian at the crosswalk at Third South and Second West in Rexburg. The plan includes community education, improving walking routes to and around schools, increasing enforcement of pedestrian and bicycle safety laws, and inspecting and evaluating city crosswalks.

BYU-Idaho, along with the City of Rexburg, encourage the campus community to Share the Road. For more information about the City's 10-point safety plan, click here.
