Additional Assignments

Only complete these additional assignments if you are instructed to.

Assignment 7

Choose a gospel principle that you would like to improve upon, or one that has had a large impact on your life.  Use the scriptures and other resources to write a 2-21/2 page paper on this topic.  The paper should be double spaced and around 750 words.

 

Here is a helpful outline for your presentation from Elder Richard G. Scott

 

"May I suggest one...simple four-step outline.  The elements can be used in any order.  The content can be extensive or brief.  A typical outline would include:

A well-expressed statement of the truth to be taught.

An example from everyday life to illistrate more understandably that truth.

A scripture to give power and meaning to the truth.

A personal testimony of the worth of the truth and, where possible, a personal application of it."

 

Assignment 8

"I wrote down a few lines every day for years.  I never missed a day no matter how tired I was or how early I would have to start the next day.  Before I would write, I would ponder this question: 'Have I seen the hand of God reaching out to touch us or our children or our family today?'  As I kept at it, something began to happen.  As I would cast my mind over the day, I would see evidence of what God had done for one of us that I had not recognized in the busy moments of the day.  As that happened, and it happened often, I realized that trying to remember had allowed God to show me what He had done."  (Henry B. Write in a journal each day for two weeks about the ways you saw the hand of God blessing your life or those around you.  At the end of the two weeks, write a one page paper describing what you have learned from your experience.  (You do not need to submit your journal entries.)
