Endorsements
"To live both the letter and the spirit of the Honor Code, you must know the baseline standards, understand their purposes, and listen to the Spirit"

Continuing Student Ecclesiastical Endorsement
BYU-Idaho will implement a new Continuing Ecclesiastical Endorsement process beginning Winter Semester 2010. The new process requires students to complete an endorsement during the first semester of their assigned track. This eliminates the need for off-track students to obtain endorsements away from campus, encouraging a closer relationship with campus bishops.

At the beginning of each semester, the university notifies students who need to complete an endorsement, placing a hold on their record until the endorsement is submitted. These students are unable to register for classes until the hold is released. With the e-mail notification, students also receive a link to the online portion of the endorsement, found at web.byui.edu/continuingendorsement.
Once students complete the online portion of the endorsement, they are eligible for an endorsement interview with their campus bishop. The purpose of this meeting is to foster communication between students and ecclesiastical leaders. It gives bishops an opportunity to review each student’s understanding of and commitment to the Honor Code. After a successful interview, the bishop may submit his portion of the endorsement to the university, releasing the hold on the student’s record.
