2012 Tour Overview

The European Religious History Tour is a unique opportunity to go beyond the traditional classroom and experience first-hand the religion, history, art, architecture, culture, language, music, and food of one of the world's most fascinating and culturally rich geographical areas.  On our journey we will visit six of Europe's finest countries: Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, France, and England. You will embark on the learning adventure of a lifetime that will change the way you view the past, present, future, and the wonderful world in which we live. Join us for a journey you'll never forget!

This exciting, fast-paced travel study program takes place during the first block of the Fall Semester and will include the following components:

  • Preliminary independent study to prepare and broaden your general knowledge base.
  • A two week intensive on-campus study to prepare you for your European experience.
  • A three week on-site study at some of the most significant locations in Europe. This on-site portion is based around the following core city-sites: Rome, Florence, Pisa, Salzburg, Prague, Berlin, Wittenberg, Paris, Liverpool, Preston, and London.
  • A post-travel assessment of what you learned, felt, and experienced on the tour.

Dear Tour Friends,

From time to time some of you have asked me about tour application deadlines.  They are driven by the limited number of students we can take on the tour (about 40). First come, apply, and pay, first served!  Those who turn in their applications and are accepted on the tour and make their tour fee payments on time, maintain their spots on the tour.  Those who are delayed in applying and/or making payments, are put on the waiting list without a guarantee of traveling with us.  We commit tens of thousands of dollars from the BYU-Idaho budget for lodging and transportation, so we have to have a steady cash flow to replenish the travel account. Unfortunately, we can't promise you a spot on the tour unless we have timely payments to secure your position. I hope this clarifies our challenge.

With best regards, Bro. Purse
