Three things to check if the wired/wireless BYUI network is not working:
- Network (ethernet) cable is firmly connected to both computer and wall port or the Wireless card is turned on.
- To verify that the connection will be obtained automatically. (Instructions below)
Windows XP:

Go to Control Panel

Double click Internet Options
-
Right click (Local Area Connection) and select Properties

Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Click Obtain IP address automatically and click Obtain DNS server address automatically
Windows Vista:

Go to Control Panel

Double click Network and Sharing Center
-
In the left sidebar click Manage network connections

Right click (Local Area Connection) and select Properties

Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

Click Obtain IP address automatically and click Obtain DNS server address automatically
3. To verify that any previous dial-up accounts are disabled (Instructions below)

Double click Internet Options

Click Connections tab

Single click any dial-up account in the "Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings" box and click "Never dial a connection".
