Specialized Associate of Art in Studio Photography

The specialized associate degree provides an intensive two year program of study for students interested in general studio photography. Upon graduation students will be prepared to work either full-time or part-time in a studio. Each student will intern as an assistant to a professional photographer.

Each fall semester qualified students are invited to attend the intensive Photo 100 course. Enrollment in this course may be limited. Prospective associate degree candidates should apply and register early to insure enrollment. Continued enrollment in the specialized photography program will be based on individual performance. Only 25 students will progress to the second semester level. Students who are unable to continue in the associate program have the option of transferring to the Bachelor of Fine Art degree program in photography with no loss of credit.

Students accepted into the second semester degree track will be expected to maintain at least a "B" average in major classes. Graduates are expected to be able to meet high standards of vision and craft. Those who complete the program but fail to meet the minimum expectations (including a final portfolio review) will be awarded a General Associate Degree.
