CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Maintenance of trees, shrubs and turf in landscape, park, golf and athletic areas.
DESCRIPTION: Two hours lecture
Three hours of small group labs per week
TOPICS: Turfgrass maintenance: Mowing, Fertilizing & Irrigating. Landscape soil and irrigation principles and practices. Weed Control, Tree pruning and care. Insect & Disease control.
OBJECTIVES: For students who want to become landscape or property managers, golf course superintendants, park managers, sports turf specialsts or arborists.
REQUIREMENTS: Texts: Arboriculture, Harris, Clark, Matheny Turfgrass Management, A.J. Turgeon.
PREREQUISITES: Agron 122 or Biology 208 or permission of instructor
