CATALOG DESCRIPTION: 
Achieving maturity in mathematical communication. Topics include introduction to mathematical proof, analysis of proof, set theory, mathematical induction, logical reasoning and elementary number theory. 
DESCRIPTION: 
This course is dedicated to teaching proof writing. Numerical computations are rare. No calculator is needed. Rigorous logical reasoning is employed to prove theorems. 
TOPICS: 
Introduction to mathematical proof, analysis of proof, set theory, mathematical induction and logical reasoning. 
OBJECTIVES: 
To bridge the gap from "computational" mathematics to "theoretical" mathematics. 
REQUIREMENTS: 
The current textbook is a must. All students must read and study the text as no other materials are used.
