|CATALOG DESCRIPTION:||Introduction to groups, rings, fields and vector spaces with applications. (Fall odd years)|
|OBJECTIVES:||Math 441 introduces the student to the major algebraic structures, their homomorphisms and their uses. It also prepares them to use algebraic structure in a wide variety of mathematical contexts. In addition students will be prepared to teach college algebra to others.|
|REQUIREMENTS:||All students must have their own text.
Assignments and exams are required by all faculty. Some faculty may require projects, working in groups, computer lab assignments, or other forms of assessment.
|PREREQUISITES:||Math 301 and Math 341|
