CATALOG DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to enhance the student's understanding of their natural environment and how to relate it to their lives. It will cover basic concepts and methods used in geology, astronomy and meteorology. It helps prepare Education majors with the knowledge necessary to teach these concepts in the classroom.

OBJECTIVES: 1. To prepare the Elementary Education major to teach earth science in the classroom.
2. To introduce General Education students to the basic principles of geology, meteorology, and astronomy.
3. To help students experience science as it relates to their surrounds.
4. To get students excited about teaching science and creating interest in grade school students to learn about the science of the earth.
REQUIREMENTS: Required Lab: Take Geology 102. Field trip attendance is required.
