CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Collegiate Singers is a choral ensemble of 40-46 mixed voices specializing in the study and performance of a wide variety of music styles from Renaissance to Broadway.
DESCRIPTION: Collegiate Singers is a choral ensemble of 40-46 mixed voices specializing in the study and performance of a wide variety of music styles from Renaissance to “Broadway.”
TOPICS: Programming and experience will vary from semester to semester.
OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this group is to provide study, activity, training, and experience in a wide variety of music styles and performance. In addition, emphasis will be placed on a wholesome musical entertainment and academic performance experience for participant and audience member.
REQUIREMENTS: Classroom, rehearsal, and performance attendance is mandatory. Some mid and/or post-semester touring is expected of the group. Individual financial responsibility will be determined by campus-wide policy on travel and clothing expense.
PREREQUISITES: While this course is not limited to music majors, enrollment does require an audition and permission of the instructor.
OTHER: This course fills the ensemble requirement for choral/vocal music majors. Please see advisor for details. This course is a repeatable course for additional credit and experience.
