| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | The second, third, and fourth semester of applied vocal instruction for vocal music majors (after 155). Private lessons for music majors, consisting of twelve 50-minute lessons and a weekly master class. | ||

| TOPICS: | Continued development of vocal production, technical, and interpretive skills, including breath management, resonance, focus, vocal freedom, projection, interpretation, diction, placement, etc. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | In the course of taking 160 for three semesters, the student should pass Level II, III, and IV of the deparmental vocal requirements. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | Practice 1 1/2 hours daily, 6 days per week. Attend and participate at both weekly private lesson and weekly master class. Memorize and perform selected songs for a jury of faculty adjudicators. Jury exam required for final grade. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Music 155 and passing Level I vocal requirements (proper breathing and posture) in the 155 jury, followed by continuing progress each semester in passing the appropriate levels in vocal development. | ||
