|CATALOG DESCRIPTION:||This block course focuses on the application of the nursing process, using the Conceptual Framework as a guide, in caring for individuals through the wellness continuum as it applies to complex patients having musculoskeletal, sensory, neurological, and endocrine concerns.|

|TOPICS:||The course curriculum includes the study of: assessing the ortho/neuro patient; degenerative diseases; head injury; spinal cord injuries;CVA, Epilepsy/Seizures; Endocrine system.|
|OBJECTIVES:||Nurse Agency (Stewardship, laws and opposites, caring relationships, human functionality, professionalism and knowledge, incorporating critical thinking, the health continuum, environment, patient agency, and the nursing process)
1. Demonstrate progress in personal and professional stewardship in rendering care for patients with musculoskeletal, sensorineural, and endocrine concerns through studying diagnostic tests, nutrition, pharmacology, and using technical skills using asepsis appropriately.
2. Formulate and maintain caring relationship through portraying emotional safety, through therapeutic communication/teaching.
3. Identify, analyze,evaluate, and respect agency in different professional roles and ehtical dilemmas in the following areas using leadership/delegation, communication/teaching skills: acute care, leadership role, rehabilitation unit, and wound care.
