| TOPICS: | Observing the stars, planets, sun and Moon,the history and philosophy of astronomy, modern deep space astronomy (stars, their life history, nebulae, galaxies)and planetary astronomy. |

| OBJECTIVES: | Recognize the brightest stars and constellations in the night sky. List/describe the strengths, limitations, philosphy and historical development of the scientific method. Use of vocabulary/concepts of modern astronomy, allowing to comfortably converse intellectually about astronomy. | ||
