CATALOG DESCRIPTION: To learn skills methods of basketball, volleyball, tennis and golf.
DESCRIPTION: Skills methods of basketball, volleyball, tennis and golf will be taught two hours a week. The class will teach the four sports in four week periods for each.
TOPICS:
OBJECTIVES: The student will be able to:
1. Coach and teach basketball, volleyball, tennis and golf.
2. Organize practices and tournaments
3. Teach skills and game structures
4. Understand and exhibit skill of team selection
5. Assess management and instructional strategies to maximize activity time
6. Apply rules and skills for team sports
REQUIREMENTS: 1. Class meets two days a week for lecture
2. Attendance and participation
3. Projects approved or assigned by instructor
4. Tests and written assignments assigned by instructor
PREREQUISITES: Must have a knowledge and skill of basketball, volleyball, tennis, and golf.
