|CATALOG DESCRIPTION:||Introduction to theory, processes, and techniques for the management of natural resource based recreation activities. Emphasis on site impacts and visitor management.|
|OBJECTIVES:||1. Introduce students to history and philosophy of natural resource management.
2. Expose students to the different resource management agencies, their structure and legal mandates
3. Explore mechanisms used for public involvement in resource issues.
4. Provide an overview of resource management practices and why they may be controversial.
5. Help students develop a personal land ethic and a commitment to becoming an effective long term steward of our natural resources.
