A study of the fundamental concepts in physics and chemistry appropriate for preparing Education majors for teaching Physical Science. Includes a three-hour lab per week.

|TOPICS:||Topics include motion, energy, heat & temperature, waves, electricity, magnetism, light, atomic models, periodic table, chemical formulas, acids and bases, and nuclear physics.|
|OBJECTIVES:||To gain an appreciation of the basic concepts and principles of physics and chemistry and show how these come into play over and over again in our lives.|
|REQUIREMENTS:||Homework is assigned from the exercises in the textbook. Everyone will teach elementary school labs to their classmates and will need to compile a lab notebook with at least 30 experiments that can be used in elementary school.|
|PREREQUISITES:||Elementary Education Major

Math Level: Moderate use of high school algebra 1.
