| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | May be repeated for credit with consent of instructor. An introduction to the basic principles of directing, coupled with extensive experience in directing two scenes and a one-act play; designed to prepare students for directing assignments in church, educational, and community theatre. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | Basic principles of directing for the theatre, coupled with extensive practicum experience. | ||
| TOPICS: | Script interpretation, composition in set design, composition in blocking, composition in lighting, working with actors, style, and putting it all together to create a complete stage experience. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | Apply skills through practical application, directing two ten-minute scenes and a one-act play. Be prepared to take on directing assignments in church, educational and community theatre groups. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Three directing projects, director's book and journal, quizzes on chapter and attendance. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Students with Junior status who have completed TA 123: Acting One, or consent of instructor. | ||
