CATALOG DESCRIPTION: A practical course covering the principles and practice of design and selection of costumes for historical, modern and non-realistic plays. Study of the relationship of custome to character and production.

TOPICS: Principles and practice of design and selection of costumes for historical, modern and non-realistic plays. Includes the study of the relationship of costume to character and production.
OBJECTIVES: Recognize the silhouette of each fashion period
Write a description of the articles of clothing that constitute the silhouette from Egypt to the 20th Century.
Research, design, and construct costumes for a specified play.
REQUIREMENTS: Quizzes, two major exams, and various other graded assignments that lead to the final designs for the specified play.
