All aspects of the writing process: prewriting, drafting, responding, revising, editing; audience awareness; collaborative writing; research and documentation. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
Relate writing strategies to other subject areas and to real-life situations. Apply advanced writing skills and research techniques to produce effective professional documents for various academic disciplines and anticipated careers. Generate and apply knowledge according to the methods of inquiry and standards of evidence used in the discipline. Develop and demonstrate skills in logic, analysis, and critical thinking. Evaluate research sources for their accuracy, comprehensiveness, and usefulness. Accurately interpret, summarize, and integrate information from traditional and electronic sources into an original document. Design a document using appropriate format, page layout, and visuals. Apply elements of effective writings, such as adapting to audience and purpose; focusing, organizing and developing ideas; achieving coherence; and editing.
