CATALOG DESCRIPTION: An elementary course emphasizing the functioning of the price system and its effect on the household, the business firm, and international trade. Economic fundamentals for business decision making are covered along with such contemporary issues as income distribution, economic growth, and international trade and finances.

TOPICS:
OBJECTIVES: The objective of this course is to give the student a conceptual foundation of microeconomic theory. Through diligent study, the student will develop the intuition and skills necessary to understand the price system of a market driven economy. The course is divided into three sections. The first, reviews the concept of supply and demand, and introduces utility theory and cost. Second, various possible market structures are examined. And, finally, we'll look at specific applications of theory.
REQUIREMENTS:
PREREQUISITES: You must have a 3.5 or higher accumulative GPA to take an Honor's course.
