CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Continued emphasis on basic language skills. Offered Fall, Winter, Summer.
DESCRIPTION: Picks up where Chinese 101 leaves off. Completes a cursory view of basic Chinese grammar in a communicative setting. Cultivation of the four skills.
TOPICS: Vocabulary, grammar and functions are combined and employed as communication tools. Reading and writing of Chinese characters.
OBJECTIVES: Students will be able to function at the Novice High level in the four skills based on ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS: Students will demonstrate their proficiency and skills on several quizzes and examinations. They will also show evidence of their preparation and proficiency in oral recitations and on writing assignments.
PREREQUISITES: Chinese 101 with a grade of "C" or better, three years high school Chinese, or consent of instructor.
