CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Continuation of 101. Completes a cursory view of basic Spanish grammar in a communicative setting. Cultivation of the four skills (speaking, reading, writing, listening). Not for Spanish-speaking returned missionaries or native speakers.
DESCRIPTION: Picks up where 101 leaves off. Completes a cursory view of basic Spanish grammar in a communicative setting. Cultivation of the four skills.
TOPICS: Past and future indicatives, imperfect vs. preterite, past and present subjunctive, hypothetical and conditional sentences, etc.
OBJECTIVES: Students will have an increased appreciation for the Hispanic cultures and an ability to communicate at an elementary level about events in the past and future as well as those seen in a more subjective manner.
REQUIREMENTS: Students will demonstrate their proficiency and skills on several examinations. They will also be required to show evidence of their preparation and proficiency in oral recitations and on writing assignments.
PREREQUISITES: Spanish 101 with a grade of "C" or better, two and a half to three years of high school Spanish, or consent of instructor.
