GENERAL EDUCATION: This course fulfills a General Education - Religion requirement.

CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Required for graduation. A study of the origin, content and teachings of the Book of Mormon from 1st Nephi through Alma 29.
DESCRIPTION: This class looks at information which will increase one's knowledge of God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost; highlight basic principles and doctrines of the gospel, and increase one's ability to find answers to life questions and trials.
TOPICS: This class will explore the doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Book of Mormon. The Atonement of Jesus Christ and other examples of God's mercy will be among the central themes.
OBJECTIVES: This course will explore the contents of the first half of the Book of Mormon (1Nephi-Alma 29) as well as identify and help better understand the doctrines taught in the Book of Mormon.
REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance is required. The student will be expected to read the first half of the Book of Mormon. All faculty give assignments, but each one determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests.
PREREQUISITES: Student must have a 3.5 or higher cumulatiave GPA to take an Honor's course.
