GENERAL EDUCATION: This course fulfills a General Education - Religion requirement.

CATALOG DESCRIPTION: The entire Doctrine and Covenants, including the Official Declarations, will be covered in this course.
DESCRIPTION: Considers the history, content, and teachings of the D & C. This course is designed to guide one to becoming a better disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.
TOPICS: Restoration of the Priesthood, Coming Forth of the Book of Mormon, Role of a Prophet, Nature of Revelation, Atonement of Jesus Christ, Church Organization, Missionary Work, Establishment of Zion, and the Prophesies of the last days are some of the topics that will be covered during this course.
OBJECTIVES: 1-Students will gain a better understanding and gain a stronger testimony of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith the Prophet by studying revealed, modern scripture as contained in the Doctrine and Covenants.
2-Students will gain greater knowledge of the doctrines, principles and ordinances of the Lord found in the scriptures as they study and compare the writings of both past and present-day prophets.
3-Students should have the ability to discuss clearly the basics of the above, to teach them in their homes and in church responsibilities, and to others interested in their religious beliefs.
REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance is required. All faculty give assignments, but each determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests.
