| DESCRIPTION: | The trek west and the establishment of the Church in the western United States under the administrations of the living prophets up to the present day. | ||
| TOPICS: | Leaving Nauvoo; the trek west; settlement of the Great Basin; the Utah War; the coming of the railroad; polygamy and statehood; the Manifesto, the dawn of a new century up to the present day. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | 1. To understand the lives and administrations of the presidents of the Church. 2. To better appreciate the difficulties, hardships and trials the saints had in the establishment of a western Zion. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Regular attendance is required. All faculty give assignments, but each determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests. | ||
