CATALOG DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to assist secondary teachers in meeting the needs of exceptional students. A wide range of exceptionalities will be addressed on topics such as identification of disabilities and exceptionalities, adaptive teaching strategies, legal issues and collaborative opportunities. Classroom management will also be emphasized.

TOPICS: Identification, accommodation and management of exceptionalities found in school settings.
OBJECTIVES: Pre-service secondary teachers will be provided the understandings and skills to serve the exceptional children who they must teach.
REQUIREMENTS: Restricted to Secondary Education majors who have completed 45 or more credits.
PREREQUISITES: Ed 200, Ed 270, SecEd 205 and SecEd 252
