CATALOG DESCRIPTION: A systems approach to the study of animal anatomy and physiology. Includes structure and function of the cell, skeletal, muscular, nervous, digestive, and reproductive systems. Practical applications of anatomy and physiology and their relation to diseases and disorders.
DESCRIPTION: Introductory course in anatomy and physiology of farm animals with emphasis on cattle and horses.
TOPICS: Basic cellular biology, histology and immunology progressing to a systematic study of the skeleton, joints, muscular, nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, renal, endocrine, reproductive, and mammary systems.
OBJECTIVES: To give students a basic understanding of the animal body to help them in animal husbandry and health care.
REQUIREMENTS: Lab required AS 321L - 2 hours per week.
