DESCRIPTION: Study whole systems of Beef Cow Management. The study of resource management, cattle grazing impacts, economics in ranching, managing feed cost, body condition and cow marketing options.
TOPICS: Whole systems management: resource evaluation, inventory, feed management, strategy, biological function of a beef cow, nutrition, pre-calving, measuring beef cattle through body condition screening, cattle cycle.
OBJECTIVES: Though specifically focused on beef cows, it is important to understand the economic impact of managing healthy range lands, matching cattle to proper environment.
