CATALOG DESCRIPTION: This is variable credit internship experience that corresponds to the student's emphasis area. Several emphasis areas in the Department of Art require an internship as part of the BFA graduation requirements. See the Catalog or your faculty advisor for more information.
DESCRIPTION: This is an independant internship course that is designed to give students a hands-on introduction to their intended profession. Students generally arrange for their own internship in consultation with the Department Internship Coordinator (see the Department secretary for more information).
TOPICS:
OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course, students will have completed 75-225 hours of guided instruction from an approved Internship providor. Work should be focused in the student's area of emphasis. The Internship providor should complete an evaluation for the student.
REQUIREMENTS: Students may enroll for 1 credit for each 75-hour period of work for a maximum of 3 credits. Several important forms must be completed by the student, the Department Internship Coordinator, and by the Internship provider, prior to enrolling in this course. A student must be added to this course by the Department Internship Coordinator.
PREREQUISITES: Junior- or senior-level students preferred.
