| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | Students, through classroom discussion and practical experience in the lab, gain a foundation for black-and-white photography. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | This course will involve lectures on principles of photography, as well as practical experience in the lab developing film and making black and white prints. | ||
| TOPICS: | Topics include camera operation, darkroom experience, history of photography, and a critical examination of student photographs. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | The objective of the course is to teach students the basic principles of photography. Serves as a foundation for photography majors, and a general education art experience for the student body at large. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | Two periods a week will be spent in lecture and three are spent in lab. Four hours a week outside of class should be spent working on assignments. Grades will be based on quizzes, weekly assignments, and a final portfolio. | ||
