| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | A studio experience exploring the principles and practices of sculpture in clay and a variety of other materials. Designed for non-art majors. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | Assignments may include a replica of an ancient ceramic piece, a response to a contemporary ceramic piece, construction of a notebook/sketchbook, wire and/or paper sculpture, a construction using found materials, a major conceptual piece involving any materials. | ||

| OBJECTIVES: | 1. To give non-art majors a studio art experience in sculpture. 2. To explore the ways in which ideas and purposes may be translated into three-dimensional form. 3. To expose students to a variety of materials and methods of work. 4. To acquaint students with principles of art and judgment. |
