| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | Students, through classroom discussion and practical experience in the lab, build upon the foundational principles learned in Art 160. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | Methods of controlling print quality through careful exposure and developing of film will be taught. Extensive exploration of materials, processes, and presentation. | ||
| TOPICS: | Along with the zone system of photography, we will also explore areas such as: print manipulation, negative manipulation, text and images, pinhole photography, and professional presentation techniques, among others. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | Broaden the experience of the basic photography course, and expand the possibilities available to the photographic artist. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | Two periods a week are spent in lecture and three are spent in lab. Minimum of four hours outside of class. Grades based on exams, weekly assignments, participation and attendance, final portfolio. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Art 160. | ||
| OTHER: | Plan to spend an additional $20-$50 for supplies. 35 mm SLR camera required. Expected that student will own a camera. | ||
