GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Students, through classroom discussion and practical experience in the lab, gain a foundation of color photography.
DESCRIPTION: Weekly assignments introduce color theory. Work will be shared with class through a presentation of slides. There will also be an opportunity to make color prints.
TOPICS: A brief history of color photography, technical information about color film, technical information about light and color, color theory, and color printing using the computer and/or darkroom.
OBJECTIVES: The objective of the course is to teach the student the basic concepts of color photography, improve the way we see and record the world, and opportunities for image making .
REQUIREMENTS: Lectures will cover the basics of color theory. Weekly critiques evaluate progress. Labs dedicated to film developing, printing, and field trips. Grades based on weekly assignments, quizzes, class participation and final portfolio.
PREREQUISITES: Art 160 and Art 165 is recommended.
OTHER: Plan to spend an additional $20 - $40.
