| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | An introduction to digital photography including digital camera, scanning, software, and printing. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | Students will use Photoshop as a way to produce photographic images. | ||
| TOPICS: | Topics will include: digital camera, flatbed scanning, film scanning, image manipulation, and printing. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | The objective of the course is to teach the student the basic concepts of digital photography. Digital imaging will eventually replace traditional darkroom processes. It is essential that students are educated in electronic imaging, if they are to be marketable, and/or relevant. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | This will be a hands-on class. As lectures are given explaining a technique, the student will have the opportunity to experience the techniques. Grades will be based on attendance and participation, weekly assignments, and a final portfolio. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Art 165, and preferably Art 260. | ||
| OTHER: | Basic materials fee: $60. Expect to spend an additional $20-$40 on supplies. | ||
