CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Emphasis on computer controlled systems. Advanced systems diagnosis of automotive systems covered; also repair or service recommendations concerning vechicle systems.

TOPICS:
OBJECTIVES: Special emphasis will be placed on electronic engine controls, theory of operation, diagnosis and repair. Lab time will be devoted to building competence, quality, speed and neatness. Work will be concentrated on under hood problems on computer controlled vehicles. Primarily, work will be tune-up or light repair oriented but may include other computer related systems such as ABS systems, etc. Each student is expected to work his best to see if he can really earn a living as an automotive technician. Some emphasis will be placed on making a profit or living wage but will not be the only consideration as lab grades are determined. There is no substitute for the perfect job and happy customer.
REQUIREMENTS:
PREREQUISITES: Department major or a good working knowledge of the automotive electrical and fuel systems. You should have completed auto electrics and fuel and emission systems or equivalent or have instructors permission.
