CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Microscopic anatomy of cells and tissues and their relationship to the function of the cell. (Winter, Fall)
DESCRIPTION: A microscopic study of the anatomy of the cells that constitute the majors systems and organs of the body. Exposure to the techniques and protocols for creating histological specimens and slides.
TOPICS: Microscopic identification of the organs and systems of the body. Students will study the histological staining techniques used for light microscope, immunohistochemistry, cytoarchitecture, SEM and TEM.
OBJECTIVES: Equip students with the requisite skills needed to identify the tissues of the body and the techniques for preparing these tissues.
