Microscopic anatomy of cells and tissues and their relationship to the function of the cell. (Winter, Fall) |
| DESCRIPTION: |
A microscopic study of the anatomy of the cells that constitute the majors systems and organs of the body. Exposure to the techniques and protocols for creating histological specimens and slides. |
| TOPICS: |
Microscopic identification of the organs and systems of the body. Students will study the histological staining techniques used for light microscope, immunohistochemistry, cytoarchitecture, SEM and TEM. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
Equip students with the requisite skills needed to identify the tissues of the body and the techniques for preparing these tissues. |
